ATLANTA, GA – David Perdue, Trump-endorsed candidate for Governor, today applauded completion of dredging for the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project (SHEP). In the U.S. Senate, Perdue worked alongside President Trump to secure full federal funding for SHEP.
“This is huge news for Georgia and our entire country,” said David Perdue. “With a deeper harbor, the Port of Savannah will be able to accommodate larger ships, move more cargo, and Georgia will be able to grow its exports. As a business guy, President Trump recognized the return on investment SHEP offered and made this project a top priority. Together, we broke through the bureaucracy and delivered full federal funding to get this project across the finish line after 20 years of delays. The Port of Savannah is an economic engine for Georgia, and completion of SHEP will help us continue to outcompete other ports around the country.”
